Visit the Castle

2025 Brechin Castle Opening
18th June – 20th July
Brechin Castle stands proud on a massive bluff of rocks above the River Southesk on the site of a much older fortress belonging to the Scottish kings. Sitting on over 40 acres of planted parkland, the present house was last reconstructed in the early 1700′s by Alexander Edward for the 4th Earl of Panmure. His design incorporates parts of the original Castle dating back to the 13th century. Over the years, it has evolved from its defensive role to being a private home for the Dalhousie family.
Come and visit the historic home of the Dalhousie family since the 17th Century, which is only open for a limited time each year. Book your guided tour now and secure your spot online or by phoning 01356 624566 or emailing enquiries@dalhousieestates.co.uk.
18/6/25-20/7/25 | Wednesday-Sunday | 1:00 pm or 2:30 pm | Admission: £12.50 per adult | £6 per child (Under 5 is free)
