About Us
Welcome to Dalhousie Estates
Lord and Lady Dalhousie extend a warm welcome to their home Brechin Castle at the ancient city of Brechin in the beautiful County of Angus in North East Scotland. Brechin Castle and the spectacular gardens are open to the public in May/June each year.
Brechin Castle and the splendid Castle Gardens have been in the Dalhousie Family since the 17th Century and cover 55,000 acres of stunning countryside from rich farmland in the vale of Strathmore at Brechin and Edzell to the summits of the Grampian Mountains.
Angus is an area rich in culture and history with wonderful walking and wildlife, superb salmon fishing, heather moorlands, and high tops where red deer herds are to be seen; also fine golf courses and majestic coastal scenery.
Field Sports
We also operate rough shooting programmes at Brechin and Edzell and, separately, under our game keeping team at Invermark. In both cases we have days available to let for groups of not less than four guns during the months of September, October, November and December.
Things to do
At Dalhousie Estates we welcome many visitors from around the world. There is comfortable accommodation with the best of food and drink for parties of up to 8 couples at Brechin Castle and Invermark Lodge, usually shooting or golfing groups, and of particular interest to corporate parties.
Fishing
Fishing is let by the week and by the day over the Upper and Lower Beats of the Edzell Water (West Bank only) on the River North Esk. The Middle Beat is not included. There are ten named pools. Maximum 3 Rods.

Angus also has a wide variety of places of interest and visitor attractions including Glamis Castle, Brechin Castle Centre, The House of Dun and The Wildlife Reserve at Montrose Basin.
Invermark Lodge
